NORDFLUID obtained not one, but two ISO Certifications (9001:2015, 45001:2018)

NORDFLUID kicks off 2022 by obtaining two ISO Certifications: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational health and safety management systems. This confirms the Group’s focus on all processes and resources that guarantee the quality and safety at work of employees and collaborators; the standards are always aimed at continuous improvement (Kaizen) and constant improvement of company processes, underlying the strategic planning of improvement and optimisation of company standards. The certifying body is the company TÜV Hessen.

As of 1 January 2022, all companies belonging to the ‘NORD FLUID Family Company’ are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and NORD FLUID also to ISO 45001:2018.

International Certification ISO 9001:2015

But what is ISO 9001:2015? ISO 9001 is the international standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). As such, ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and the most widely used QMS standard in the world, with over 1.1 million certificates issued to organisations in 178 countries. Its achievement means that the company in question embraces a structure and a set of principles that guarantee a common-sense approach to the management of its organisation, an approach that aims to satisfy both customers and all other interested parties in a logic that is always based on the sustainability of the actions introduced over time.

In the words of Eric Emmanuel Schmitt: ‘A man is the product of choices and circumstances. No one has power over circumstances, but everyone has power over their choices’.

International Certification ISO 45001:2018

In the same family, but with different goals and objectives, is the International Certification ISO 45001:2018, the first certifiable ISO standard on occupational health and safety management systems. Put another way: while ISO 9001 has to do with Quality Management Systems, ISO 45001 is the worldwide international standard for occupational health and safety, i.e. the standard issued to protect employees and occasional visitors from all kinds of work-related accidents and illnesses.


ISO 45001 Certification, as a completely voluntary standard (as is in the spirit of all ISO Certifications), complements what is already provided for by Legislative Decree 81/2008: the ultimate goal, therefore, is to implement an occupational health and safety management system that succeeds in adding new elements (both activity and analysis) to what organisations already do in relation to the requirements of the Legislative Decree 81/2008 – Consolidated Work Safety Act .

In other words, the objective of ISO 45001 certification is to contain, as best as possible, mitigate all those factors that could pose a risk of causing irreparable harm to employees and companies, i.e. injuries, illnesses and, in extreme situations, even death, factors that are harmful or that pose a danger not only to the physical well-being, but also to the mental well-being of workers, in addition to the provisions already put in place by Legislative Decree 81/2008.

In other words, the objective of ISO 45001 certification is to contain, as best as possible mitigate all those factors that could pose a risk of causing harm to employees and companies, such as injuries, illnesses, harmful factors, or that pose a danger not only to the physical well-being, but also to the mental well-being of workers, in addition to the provisions already put in place by Legislative Decree 81/2008.

Obtaining this Certification is further proof that the company is attentive and responsible towards its staff, and therefore that it has equipped itself with the necessary control tools to make its site(s) a healthy and safe working environment for all those who more or less occasionally visit it every day.
